Event Series:
Open Farm Days at the Skyfarm
Skyfarm Open Farm/Fresh Market & Community Food Lesson (Wed.)
November 27 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm CST
Our weekly Open Farm Day is your chance to experience the Blackwood Skyfarm at POST Houston for after-school/after-work education each and every week.
Each Open Farm Day begins with a 1 hour interactive tour of the Blackwood Skyfarm followed by a 1 hour food or farming lesson.
Weekly on Wednesdays, year-round.
- 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
- Free and open to all, with RSVP required to communicate on special instructions.
Each week alternates between a Community Food Lesson or Community Farm lesson:
- Community Food Lessons are hands-on sessions where you will learn how to make simple nutrient-dense foods or plant-based medicine using seasonal produce and herbs, and maybe even take something home!
- Community Farm Lessons are also hands-on experiential learning sessions where you become an urban farmer for the day, picking up tips on how to start and nurture your own home, school, or community garden.
- Check back here each week for our upcoming topics. Future topics will include “Seasonal Lacto-Ferments & Kim Chi”, “Herbalism & Plant Medicine for Beginners,” “Gardening with Changing Seasonality,” “Seasonal Garden Pestos,” and more.
