A WEEKLY ENRICHMENT Program
Farm School
Blackwood’s Farm School exists to teach students a strong work ethic as they learn where food comes from while connecting classroom studies to real-world situations.
Farm School 2026 Overview
Blackwood’s Farm School is a joyful, hands-on weekly program where children learn by doing, exploring, and tasting the wonders of farm life. Through gentle guidance and playful moments of discovery, students experience how a modern farm works while building a meaningful connection to nature, food, and community. Fresh from achieving our 4.6 Regenified Certification, we are excited to share what we’ve learned with a new batch of students this year.
At Farm School children dig in the soil, watch plants grow, help care for animals, and learn where their food truly comes from. Along the way, they develop confidence, curiosity, and respect for the natural world – all skills that stay with them long after they leave the farm. Lessons are thoughtfully woven to include science, storytelling, writing, simple planning, project building, animal stewardship, and cooking beautiful meals together.
For the first six weeks of our 2026 session, the focus will be on culinary skills and cooking. Students will spend time in our welcoming Chef’s kitchen and in the gardens – harvesting ingredients step by step, learning how food travels from the field to the family table.
Farm School is designed to feel safe, engaging, and fun for students – while giving families the peace of mind that their children are learning valuable life skills rooted in care, health, and sustainability.
