“One of the most exciting feelings to me is walking through the wild and actually recognizing and knowing the plants I’m walking through.

Bee balm is a great example, and favorite of mine! Knowing it’s an anesthetic and antiseptic that I can add with so many other plants to make powerful salves is empowering. Making balsamic vinegar from juniper berries that I find in the woods is empowering. We also have lots and lots of yaupon growing around the farm this year which is naturally caffeinated and makes a great tea and knowing that is – you guessed it – EMPOWERING.

All of this knowledge really pulls on my plant-loving heartstrings, and sharing this knowledge with others is my life’s mission. With all that said, I’d love to see you at the farm on April 12th to Take A Walk On The Wildside with Mark Vorderbruggen and find out first hand how fun it can be to be empowered by nature’s knowledge! “ – Cath Conlon
