Summer Nature & High School

High School Camp

Send your kids to a camp unlike any other!

High School Camp

An exciting Sunday-Friday overnight summer adventure camp for high schoolers. All-day Trebian Capture the Flag, cooking our own meals, hiking, glow in the dark Brazilian Capture the Flag, and tons of bonding and leadership opportunities. You won’t want to miss it. If you have completed your first year of high school OR if you are between 15 and 18 years old, this is the camp for you!

High School Camp was created by high schoolers, for high schoolers. Under the guidance of trained counselors and the Camp Director, the High School Leadership Team works together to create 5 days of awesome programming.

With our high schoolers, we take our games and activities to the next level: capture the flag, bonfires, night color hunt for play; bonding, public speaking, and leadership opportunities while we learn food and farm-based skills like tea making, plant identification, fort building, and carpentry; and retreat activities like meditation and yoga. Come join the Blackwood community if you have completed your first year of high school OR if you are between 15 and 18 years old.  And take out where it says all day and six hour Capture the flag please? We are going to have capture the flag just not the extended version during board camp.

Ask us about Badger Camp.

For past Blackwood campers and counselors from any season, we also have a less structured, more independent camp beginning immediately after High School Camp on Friday, 8/6 to Tuesday 8/10. This is more of an outdoor retreat among old friends, with less educational programming. This program is offered at minimal cost and all campers must be approved by Blackwood camp staff. If you would like more information about this program, please email info@blackwoodland.org.

COVID-19 Safety Protocol

As we as a community continue to navigate the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic including variants, we are following the public health guidance provided to us by the Texas Department of State Health Services to encourage vaccination for campers over 12 years of age. However, vaccination is not required to attend camp. We do require either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of arrival to camp and conducting daily temperature and symptom checks, along with following socially distanced drop-off and pick-up procedures to protect our “bubble” of campers and staff.

In addition, we are continuing best cleaning and sanitization practices, and while on-site campers will only interact with vaccinated staff.

Registration Information

You will be required to create an account in order to apply for summer camp. You will have access to the camp portal at any time to submit documents, make payments, and contact camp staff. If you have any questions about registration, please reach out to the campdirector@blackwoodland.org and we’ll be happy to help!

Please note: all campers (new and returning) will be required to submit a new health history and immunization record/exemption for this first year of the new system, unless you have one on file from 2020 High School Away or 2021 Summer Nature Camp.
