For over 30 years now, Blackwood Educational Land Insitute, an educational nonprofit and teaching farm, has worked to model the indispensable role of regenerative food systems in all of our lives and to create an eco-conscious generation of Texans at its flagship 33-acre Landfarm in Hempstead, TX.

Now, with the Skyfarm at POST Houston situated atop the historic former Barbara Jordan Post Office building, and with your support of its work, Blackwood can reach more Houstonians with the important message that each and every food decision we make can help us to address the most pressing health and environmental justice issues of our time: chronic disease, climate change, and food inequity. We will do this by growing organic, nutrient-dense food and teaching urban agriculture at one of the largest rooftop farms in the world in partnership with POST Houston and Lovett Commercial.

- First Bite by Chef Cade Conlon: Crispy pickled Landfarm potatoes wrapped with farm-made pastrami and Blackwood Country Love emulsion with chili pequin oil, garlic confit, and caramelized onions. Vegetarian option available.
- Skyfarm Welcome Course by Chef Paul Qui: Salmon crudo with Skyfarm tomatillo, peppers, and moringa. Vegetarian option available.

We need volunteers! We would be honored to have volunteer assistance in the following areas: event set up, greeting guests, working the registration table, live auction support, working the gift bag table, and clean-up.
