Volunteer Day at Blackwood Skyfarm
June 21, 2025 @ 7:00 am - June 20, 2026 @ 11:00 am CDT

Volunteer Fridays at the Blackwood Skyfarm
Every Friday | 7:00 – 11:00 AM | POST Houston
Start your Friday with purpose — and a little dirt under your nails.
Join Blackwood Educational Land Institute for Volunteer Fridays at the Skyfarm, a hands-on opportunity to support regenerative agriculture in the heart of the city. Located inside POST Houston, the Skyfarm is a working rooftop farm turned educational space where food, ecology, and community meet.
As a volunteer, you’ll help care for the farm while learning firsthand about sustainable urban agriculture, soil health, and how farms can thrive even in unexpected places.
What You Might Do:
• Plant, water, and harvest seasonal crops
• Maintain beds, pathways, and compost areas
• Assist with seeding and transplanting
• Prep the space for school groups and public programming
• Contribute to a greener, more resilient Houston
Why It Matters:
Skyfarm is more than a rooftop garden — it’s a model for how cities can integrate food systems into their built environments. Your time and energy help us keep this farm productive, educational, and beautiful for everyone who visits.
