Open Farm Days at the Blackwood Skyfarm
POST HTX Rooftop – Houston, TX
Step into a farm unlike any other — one that sits high above the city and invites you to reconnect with the land, even in the heart of downtown.
Blackwood Educational Land Institute invites you to join us for Open Farm Days at the Skyfarm at POST HTX — a living rooftop ecosystem dedicated to regenerative agriculture, ecological education, and urban food resilience.
During Open Farm Days, the rooftop is yours to explore. Meet the farmers, tour the beds, smell the herbs, and learn about the crops we’re growing right here in the city. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how soil health, composting, pollinators, and climate-adaptive plants all come together to support a thriving urban farm.
Whether you’re a curious neighbor, a student, an educator, a designer, or simply someone who wants to learn more about where food comes from — this is your invitation to connect.
What to Expect:
• Guided tours of the Skyfarm
• Hands-on learning stations for all ages
• Meet our team and learn about our regenerative methods
• Seasonal updates on what’s growing and why
• Insight into rooftop farming and sustainable food systems in Houston
• Opportunities to volunteer, get involved, and support the farm
Why it Matters:
Skyfarm is more than a rooftop garden. It’s a research site, a classroom, and a model for how cities can grow food in ways that are restorative, not extractive. Come see what’s possible — and be part of what’s next.
